Hello, I am looking a bit into A&T/Stunt for something to do in college after graduating high school. Since gymnasts tumble on a spring floor bare foot, and A&T is on dead mat with shoes, I was wondering how easy/hard is it to transition into the sport (I have only ever done gymnastics in terms of tumbling wise, and I'm not a very powerful tumbler). Are there any other things that might be difficult in transitioning from gym to A&T???

Thank you!

I am an NCAA A&T official as well as a gymnastics official. I see many girls I used judge in gymnastics that have transitioned successfully to A&T. I know they lift more weights to get more strength and muscle, and they train stuck landings and precision. Many former gymnasts are highlighted in the individual tumbling passes, and seem to be doing very well. If you're interested, you should find a college that has a summer camp for A&T (usually just a day or 2) and attend to see how you like it.
