For Christmas, I am asking my parents for a floor beam. I already have a low beam, but it isn't as long as a real beam is. I want a floor beam so I can work on upper level skills :). But I see beams in all these magazines/internet that are 8, 9, or 12 feet long. So my question is...how long is a beam?

The beams in the gym are always exactly 16 feet long, and 4 feet tall, and 4 inches wide. as JuJu's Mom said. :)

actually, it is 47 1/4 from the top of the beam to the cement floor at 120 cm.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
