WAG How to stop piking down in twistsing?

Hello, I am currently working on my front twisting. I have done front fulls to mats in the pit, and front 1.5 into the pit. But my issue is every time I twist, I pike towards the ground before I even am off the ground, which is causing me to not flip enough and fall backwards. I try to look up longer before I twist and say the word "patience" in my head before I start to twist, but I still pike down. Does anyone have any tips to help me.

I haven’t experienced this myself with front twisting but I used to pike a lot in my back twisting cause I felt like I had too much height and for whatever reason my head thought piking me down would help. My coach told me to think about squeezing my butt really tight which helped me. My other thing I could possibly think of is trying to thinking about continuing your heal drive all the way through until you land if that makes sense (think of it like a rainbow that your feet are drawing)
