I´m arranging a big gymnastics meet for my first time and I´m in charge of the music for the floor routine.
It has become clear to me that there should be a online system that would allow gymnasts to upload their own music and then it automatically ties up to the name (and later number).

Today we ask gymnasts to send their music via email and all the files are named in their own way which makes it awfully complicated. Also the room for error is quite big.

Does anyone know of a system like this?

sincerely,
norwegian gymnast dad

In our official meets I think they do use an informatics system that makes something similar to what you mention, but I hace no idea what it is. Probably was designed for the gymnastics federation. For that you have an online platform and you upload the music there.
Before that system was in place we had to send the music by e-mail but it had a name format. Ie. Surname_Name_Club_Category.mp3 and for nationals I think we had the number and it was added in some place.
Another system we use for an interclubs competition is having a google folder for each club and each club uploads the gymnast's music with the name in a format similar to the one I mentioned before.

I have thought for a long time that this sort of system should exist. Coaches could upload music at the beginning of a season and at each meet, it would create a playlist tied to floor rotation order. At our club’s meets, it works the way JBS said. Coaches just come up to the music area and plop down a player with their gymnast’s music. I think that most think this works just fine and there isn’t a lot of interest in changing it. But seeing the music person be stressed out working with a variety of players and cords and hoping s/he gets it right as the gymnast waits in their starting pose, I agree with you that there’s got to be a better system.

A system like you’re talking out wouldn’t be that technically difficult to develop. I’m not sure it offers much benefit over what coaches do now though, which is plug in an iPad/ipod/phone into the sound system. Plus you’d have one more thing to troubleshoot and have coaches trying to do before the meet started. Maybe if all meets used the same system, and a coach could upload all their athletes music before the season. But then what if the WiFi goes out?

Does USAG (or any of the commonly-used meet software) have an API with basic athlete info? If so, it shouldn't be too hard to write something that could pull info from that and associate a track with a specific athlete by USAG number; then, a meet director could simply plug in their rosters and automatically have all their music downloaded and ready to go.

.... my django skills are a bit rusty (and were never all that great to begin with), but if there's enough interest and ideally another web developer or two who can help out, I'd be down to put in what work I can to try to help build this, if it doesn't already exist.
