I was watching something and this question came to me that my dd was saying when we were watching the Visa Championships.

She says that her coach told her that when you land a dismount and take a step back, that you need to stick from there and present to the judges. If you land, take a step back, then bring you feet back together that is is 2 steps on the landing and you lose more points.

I have never heard of this and as we were watching the Elite gymnasts do it over and over I think it might just be something my dd misunderstood.

So does this sound right to anyone? TIA

I am not sure if its right but i always thought that if you take a step back you bring that foot back to your foot thats grounded where you landed and if you you take a step forward you step back to your grounded foot, does that make sense?
