WAG Level Question

I have a question about levels under the new guidelines. does a gymnast have to start st a certain level and compete at each level in order to move up? How is it decided what level a gymnast will start competing at?

Gymnasts can start at any level up to level 4. They must then earn a minimum score at competition for each level to move up.

What level each gymnast starts at and when they move on is up to the coaches at each gym and varies greatly.

To add...... Some gyms will place the gymnast on a team they believe the child will do well at, whether or not they have all the skills. Other gyms will only let a child go to a certain level if they already have every single skill needed for that level.
