Mother of an 11 yr old son that just started gymnastics

Hello All!

I'm a mother of an 11 year old son that just started gymnastics 9 months ago. We (our family) has been trying to convince him to try gymnastics for the last couple of years...he's short, muscular and has been jumping and flipping around the house since he was able to walk! However, it wasn't until he watched the Men's Summer Olympics that he finally agreed to try it. He absolutely loves it!!! His first time in the gym was in a beginning class for homeschoolers and he was the only one there. His coach seemed super impressed with is ability and since last August he has moved out of that class into an advanced class and was just invited to join the level 5 team.

We are very excited but totally clueless! Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated!

Welcome! I have a 10 yo son that is training level 7/8 right now. He loves it. It is such a great sport for boys. Check out the Men's Artistic Gymnastics board on here too! Lots of parents of boys there and we love to share!!!
