Quick view, all gymnast girls, many mutuals, can’t see anything suspicious at first glance. The trend is gymnasts girls follow each other to get their followers up. If you set your account private, parents views and approves all follow request, it is very easy to spot creeps or not…

As a moderator here, I can tell you that creeps get onto this site from time to time. Some are obvious and are booted out immediately but others go to great lengths in pretending to be someone that they aren't and it usually comes to light when inconsistencies in stories become obvious. And imagine this being magnified on Instagram where account owners don't have all the security tools to assist in determining someone's intent.

But aside from this, my question is how many creeps are too many for you? Is 1 OK? 10? 200? What is that threshold for you?

This poster has carefully vetted some 4000 followers per girl, clearly, it's a full-time pursuit and no creep could possibly slip through! I assume the parents who are hawking their kids for likes and free crap don't care much if some creeps are following those kids.

Wow you sound angry lol, 1000 is really easy to achieve, girls follow each other, and mostly through mutuals…yes you will know they are real, most times gyms and names are listed. I actually have grown into meetscores to verify. Again, for parents who want to do their job and control, it is minimal harm. you will be surprised how many gym, dance and cheer girls are out there following each other.

beyond 4000 -5000 is not easy, that is when the mass audience comes in, and it is a pivoting moment for parents to make a choice. Of course There are always exceptions like high performing gymnasts gaining organic followers, there is risk too, but the videos they post are mostly less life style, more skills.

I person;ly know some very famous YouTube gymnasts and IG gymnasts and influencers. The most prominent one had thousands of nasty old men following and commenting daily with nasty comments. One contacted me because my dd IG (which I ran) followed hers, and when I checked his account it was nothing but stolen photos of the influencer from babyhood to teen.
Another I know had an IG that grew by 1000s daily! Obviously bots and mom was purchasing followers. When checking just a few of those accounts, they were obviously creeps. The kid even stopped doing gymnastics and her account continued to grow by 1000s weekly, with her always posing in leotards and doing stretches.
Another quit gymnastics later, but by the time she was 12, she was posing in wanton and seductive ways, editing her photos to enhance body parts and even change the shape of her face. Her account is loaded with creeps, dirty old men, and bots. When comments get posted with nothing but eggplant emojis with the "juicy" symbol next to it, or the peach emoji, it's pretty obvious it's not another gymnast. Or they ask "Have you had your period yet"" Its not just innocent fun of gymnasts following gymnasts.
It is also very lucrative for many of them, especially if mom only cares about the money and will allow their prebubescent daughter to pose in seductive ways and make pouty lips, etc. I think you are not aware of what it's really like, and are limited to your daughter and her friends' accounts, which might be just fun and innocent (look harder, you'll find the creeps among their followers). And because OD made a name for herself and is now a millionaire several times over, more moms and daughters are looking at that and are letting their guards down and allowing and doing things they never would have thought to do in the past, in order to cash in like she did.

LOL angry? not at all. You can sit there and fool yourself, i can't imagine someone looking up 1k accts and checking their videos and meetscores accts... Also most companies that have ambassadors require accts to be public ( not all but most ). either way if that is something your into then so be it, it doesn't affect me in any way.

lol, I really think you have a lot of false assumptions. It is not that complicated. A lot of posts here are watching from the outside and just judging. For mega influencers, it is a lifestyle they choose, for most girls, it is just for fun and connect with other gymnasts who they may even bump into at camps.

Actually, this site is way less creepy than IG and safer than IG. We do a lot of work to remove the creep factor. Is it 100%, of course not but there are actual people behind the anonymity with enough members that have been here for years where there's actually a lot of consistency in this community. Not sharing picture or video of your kids is just solid common sense and not necessarily indicative that this site is 'creepier' than IG.
