Parents Picking Senior Leotards ... Third Time's a Charm

Hi. So, as the title hints at, we are picking senior leos.
OG didn't compete in her senior year (2020) because she had no time since she was taking 3 college classes and in a pre-nursing high school program, so no senior leo for her.
YG was going to compete her senior year (2023) ... until she found out that the OTHER 4 seniors got together over the July break and picked and purchased senior leos without even reaching out to her. It wouldn't have been bad if they had at least chosen a leo that she could wear. It had a high neck with a clip in the back. She can't wear a leo like that because of her neck/throat anatomy. She can't even wear a leo that is close to the front of her neck. We had to pass on so many cute practice leotards because of this issue. It was the final nail in the coffin of her season.
Now, LSS is a senior. She only has 1 or 2 other seniors on the team, and she will know Monday if the 2nd one is going to compete for our team or just for the high school team. She is excited to pick a leo. She looked at GK, but didn't like any in the acceptable price range. She did find a couple at K-Bee and several at Snowflake, but they all need some changes (sleeve length, fabrics, bling) ... and we need to make sure they will be in the budget. The hope is that she will have mock-ups on Monday to take to gym with her.
She has already told me that I get to go to the Senior Reception at Nationals with her ... but depending on where it is this year, I might not be able to go. Fingers Crossed!

Update: The girls were worried about not getting the mock-ups from Snowflake in time, so one of the girls found one on Quatro that they all liked and agreed on. The coach approved too. This happened literally 3 hours before I got the mock-ups.
The girls were going to each order on their own since it was a stock leotard. All in, it was going to cost $154.89
Fast forward 4 days. I went to order the leotard and noticed that it wouldn't be delivered until JANUARY 30! Luckily neither of the other girls had ordered yet.
LSS let the other girls know about the issue and sent a pic of the mock-ups to them. We also let HC know and took the mock-up printout to practice. They had 6 choices. I love their FINAL choice (the "white" is really silver)!!!!!! And, cherry on top, $130 all in.

It's really cool that seniors get to pick their own leos! At my gym, we get to pick where the word senior goes but the design is not ours to choose I really like the design though!

Thanks. The funny thing is that this is the first class to actually have the word "senior" on their senior leotards. But, I do think it might start a trend. Lol, one of the teams we compete against has their seniors wear their team leotard, but they switch the main colors.
23-24 season, there was only 1 senior, and she also competed high school, so she didn't waste money on a leotard she would only wear 2 times.
22-23 season, the seniors just did stock leotards from GK.
21-22 season, there was only 1 senior, and she chose a stock leotard from GK.
20-21 season, they had a stock style from Alpha Factor done in our team colors (our regular team leotards were AF at the time).
19-20 season, they had a stock style from Alpha Factor in our team colors.
18-19 season, we had our first senior, and she bought herself a new GK leotard that she liked.

Lol, it all started with one girl ... who needed a new leotard ... and didn't realize it until it was too late to order ... and it was her senior year.
Now, if there are multiple seniors, they have to agree on the leotard and the coach has to deem the style and price acceptable. If there is just one, then she sets the "acceptable price" and style.

Our seniors dont get a special leo, but they help design the new full team leotards, if it falls on a new leo year. DD is a 2026, and next year is a new leo year. She loves playing with leotard design so I'm very excited to see what her and the other seniors come up with!
