Hello, I will be entering my jr year of high school, and last year I was a first year platinum. I am working towards becoming a diamond for this upcoming season.
I have the majority of the requirements for diamond (besides a 10.0 vault (which isnt a worry at all, since my gym doesn't require it), and either my front tuck front tuck/pike connection on floor or a front full (which I am close on working up to the floor). The rest of my upgrades I need that are new from my platinum routines are either not the cleanest form as of now, or are mentally challenging to do (I am slowly starting to get less scared of).
With that being said, my coaches (for the most part) are acknowledging me as doing platinum again, which I am unsure how I feel about it.
I will feel more secure if I repeat platinum, as I will qualify to nationals easier, and would have less stress throughout the season. But I would not compete any of my upgrades at all, get bored halfway through the season (which is what happened when I repeated previous levels), and feel less confident on working new skills to compete diamond my senior year, because I don't feel capable of competing a higher level.
But If I did compete Diamond next season, I would like the challenge, but it would bring a lot more stress to qualify to nationals, and If i did not qualify, I would let myself down on one of my main goals.
If anyone can give me advice on if you were my coach and got decide what level would be best for me to compete next season, what level you would put me in? Thank you!
