I have a team tryout for may 30th, I'm super nervous. Can anyone help me with what level I should expect to get into with my current skills? And tips for mental blocks? I feel like I have tried everything.

Floor: Cartwheel, one hand Cartwheel, Handstand, Handstand Forward Roll, Backward Roll to push-up, backward roll to sit, backward roll to stand, Forward roll to stand, Back bend, Round off. half turn 2 feet, half turn 1 foot, full turn 1 foot, leap/split jump 100 degree.

Working on: Bridge Kickover, back walkover, front walkover, back handspring, front handspring, side aerial, press Handstand.

Beam: Cartwheel (When no mental block), Forward roll, half turn 2 feet, half turn 1 foot, leap/split jump 100 degree. Side Handstand dismount, round off dismount.

Working on: consistent Cartwheel, Backward roll, Handstand.

Bars: Cast over 45 degrees, Back hip circle (When no mental block), Jump to high bar, underswing dismount (high and low bar), Forward roll dismount (high and low bar), half turn on high bar,

Working on: pullover (I'm so close) consistent back hip circles, toe circle, squat on, kip (not very close)

Vault: jump on table/mat, handstand flat back standing on table/mat, jump to Handstand Flat back, jump to Handstand Forward roll,

Working on: consistent Handstand, front handspring,

Honestly at our gym, we're not putting anyone on team who can't do a pullover. Keep working at it!
We don't do Bronze or Silver, but I have seen other teams with Bronze gymnasts. One team had 2 girls who did a jump to front support as their mount ... but that counts as a skill in Bronze ... and the rest of their routine was great and their other events were great too. I think the one girl scored over 37 AA and the other one was over 36 AA. I only remember because they were each in the top 3 in their age groups in the All Around and they both placed high on every event.

Yeah I know it's not required but it is required to move through the rec levels at our gym. We have beginning, intermediate, intermediate plus, and then advanced. Then team, entering at either bronze or silver. A kick over is required to move from beginning to intermediate and a two foot pullover to go from intermediate to intermediate plus. So if we did an assessment/trial with someone who didn't have a pullover, they would go to intermediate.

You’d probably make silver at my gym. They would really work on the pullovers, back hip circle, and front handspring vault over the summer, because those are required to compete. I think I made silver with similar skills, except reverse the beam cartwheel and handstand, no jump to high bar, and I had a kick over. Most girls join team without a vault because rec doesn’t practice it much. It usually doesn’t take long to figure out once you’re practicing it all the time. It’s pretty common for pull overs and back hip circles to be inconsistent at first too. I think you would probably be ready for USAG silver requirements by competition season. But every gym has different requirements, some would put you on Bronze. Good luck!
