I have a question....

DD and I have been watching a lot of Womens college gymnastics (Most fun to watch!!) on TV. We watched a men's meet the other day..

Does anyone know why the Women's Progam still uses the JO Scoring system (10.0) but the Men's Program is scoring the FIG System (Difficulty + Excution)?

And is the Women's program planning on changing their scoring?

Men's JO now uses the FIG system for levels 8-10.

Thank you!

While I understand the need to elimate subjectiveness in scoring.... I hope the Women's JO Scoring doesnt change from the 10.0 system anytime soon..

There is just something about shooting for that Perfect Ten..............

I have heard a rumor that the Womens USAG is going to that scoring system after the Olympics for level 7-10. It is just something iheard so may not be true. I also hope not as it seems hard to follow and I have just figured out the current system. Hey by the way kristilyn73 we (MVGC) qualified 1 of our 4 Level 8 to Regionals so all the teams are very proud of her. Also DD can cast ot handstand finally!

Congrats to DD!!! YEAH! Better bars are on their way!!! Tell her good job!

YIPPEE to your L8! None of our L8's qualified, but so far 2 of our L9's have. Our last L9 and our L10 are competiting right now...
