I like the 'Trust the process' mentality, but have never heard it used in that way. I am sure trusting the process was never meant to refer to coaching methods of any kid, but towards being patient with the development of skills.
Being prepared to do the work on the strength, flexibility and drills and trust that the skills will come. Never have I heard it being used to justify abusive coaching method.
