Congrats to all the boys who competed at regionals over the last two weeks. How did it go for you and your boys? Feel free to brag!

Lots of us are in newly realigned regions with different competition than we are accustomed to. How did that go?

What’s next for your gymnasts? Are they headed for Nationals or Regional camps?

What are your take always from this season?

My son attended Region 2 regionals in MN. This year our region expanded from 5 states to 12 states spanning 4 time zones! We went to MN a few days early to adjust to the time change, which was a really good move.

My son had a solid meet. He was very excited to help bring home the 🥇 for WA in the level 5 state team competition. He also won the individual All Around 🥇 for the second year in a row.

Regionals was a nice way to cap off the season but I’m relieved that it is over. All he has left is the sectional camp, and then we will be done traveling for gymnastics until January!

The guys who have been working hard did well in the areas where they've been working hard, and the guys who haven't been working as hard.... well, without wanting to get too negative, of my four L9/10 boys, the three that usually work hard at practice made nationals, and the one that doesn't didn't, and I'm hoping that will come as a wakeup call to to the one who didn't.

Mid and lower level boys had some good individual event placements. I'm particularly proud of my L5 boy who got 2nd on floor; that's really not an event that comes naturally to him, and he's been working hard this season to get it up to where it needs to be.

@Dahlialover I'm gonna highjack your thread and rename it to cover Easterns/Westerns/Nationals as well.

For the L9s, how did Easterns/Westerns go?

For the L10s, good luck at nationals, and let us know next week how it went!

I only had one L9 at Easterns... and he won high bar! Also 4th on pommels, 4th AA, no falls the whole meet.

(I wish I could claim credit here, but I'm mainly the floor/vault/rings coach -- our head coach is the main high bar/p-bars/pommels guy)

My son wasn't eligible for nationals this year but his teammates did really well. A lot of them skipped multiple levels or were dealing injuries, so it was a hard year for everyone but they all shined on something at Westerns.

It was also interesting to see the results of the first ever 6e competition, since my son will be competing that level next year. Not many 12-year-olds chose to do it, probably because they were added at the last minute; I wonder if that might change next year. There were 9 10-year-old 6Es, so my son will have some stiff 2nd year competition next year as an 11-year-old 6E. It’ll be interesting to see how this program evolves!
