Sauna and steam room?

Thoughts on sauna or steam room ?
Dd going leisure centre
Likes both of above - think i have a vague memory that one or both is bad in relation to gym?
She is old enough to be allowed in either per rules of the centre.(teen) She likes the relaxing part of it. Is it a no no ?

Wouldn't want her to do it at any time of the day prior to gym practice due to hydration issues. Great for after practice, but she needs to drink plenty of water an hour before the suana or steam bath.
