Hi All,
Wondering if there is a certain age that a gymnast should reach level 10 by in order to be considered for a US college scholarship by age 17/18?
Does not need to be a D1 or D2 school, even D3 would be great.
Would love to hear from those that have had actual experiences with this from Ontario Canada going to the US.
Thanks ☺️

D1 is the only level where full scholarships are offered. I believe D2 has partial athletic. Gymnasts typically compete at Level 10 for one to four years before college, with many competing at this level during their entire high school career. Recruiting is extremely competitive, top athletes can struggle. Starting early is great

Gymnasts should reach L10 ideally sometime between 8 and 9th grade. Recruiting actively starts at the end of their sophomore year of high school. This allows a solid year or two at L10 for colleges to view and evaluate potential recruitable gymnasts. This is the average path, so while the majority of scholarship gymnasts fall in this age range, there are some that start later and some that start younger at L10.

Canada is a wild-card for me. I have no idea how college coaches may evaluate talent. Most gymnasts from Canada in college seem to have come from the elite world and the exposure that it provides.
