Ok, so many of you have probably read my posts about how I "lost" my ROBHS after falling during my L5 floor routine. Well now I am back in level 4 because I have been freaking out about it and I haven't even gone for one ROBHS without spot for the past three months. I have a meet coming up on Saturday and I really don't want to get spotted on a ROBHS because I had that skill for almost a year until 3 months ago, and when my coach stands by me I do really powerful ones with no help, just confidence spot. I also just hurdle into the ROBHS instead of running because sometimes I have to take more or less steps than other times and it makes me nervous if I'm a little behind or ahead of her when I am starting my roundoff. Many people have told me that my spotted ROBHS looks better than my ROBHS did before I got scared, and plus I don't even run into it, just hurdle, and my legs are straight and it's very powerful. So I am wondering if I should just go for it at the meet. Meaning I tell my coach she doesn't need to stand there and I will just go for it. I want to go for it because I know I can do it, I have done it many times before, I don't want to get a deduction because she has to touch me, and I just want to do the whole routine myself. The reasons I am scared to go for it is because I am afraid I will freak out and have to ask her to spot in the middle of the routine (there is a deduction for talking to your coach), or I will fall like I did 3 months ago. Yet, I want to do it myself because I can get a much better score. What are your thoughts? Should I go for it or play it safe and get spot?
