I agree you really have to watch for the kids getting too tired. We moved and go to a gym with longer later hours. With the move and all the adjustments ds could not stay. We went from ending at 6:30 to 8:30. Coach wasn't thrilled but I pulled him between 7:30 and 8 depending on how he was doing. The main reason: I didn't want him to get hurt. I knew this was the right long term program for ds but also had to put my mom hat on. Luckily they were accommodating and he fully adjusted after about 2 months.
To the OP: ds has a snack break and eats a ton then, I always pack a lunch style snack for the way home too so it is right to bed when we get home. That is the key for us.
