I have a 10 yrs old who never had the Olympics dream. Her only big gym dream is to do college gym if possible. I was a bit more confident last year but now I am not so sure.

We're a military family overseas and because she started gym at 7.5yrs of age, she will never receive the hours she will need to compete to the college qualifying level (she'd have to be competing at elite level at age 8 to get US JO level types of hours). So right now she trains 7.5hrs and while she is developing, she's no elite material and will never catch up to get those long hours. She'll probably top at 12hrs.

We will be in the US this summer and after speaking and emailing gyms dd's video and latest skills, I really like this club where she will be training with the XCEL Platinum girls 4x/week. From Mymeetscore, this club doesn't seem to do level 4, 5 or 6. They do though have JO 7-10. I didn't ask why but I really like the XCEL program from my reading. It'll be perfect for my dd I think. Her bars are weak compared to the US (no fancy dismounts), she is learning to bhs on beam with good f/b walkovers and that one where you tick tock back and forth. Is that a flick-flack? She can summersault off beam too. Vault is same as everybody else, and the only thing she hasn't learned on floor is to RO BHS back summersault. Her coach hasn't taught her to back summersault. Said her 3rd BHS is still crooked on knees.

XCEL Platinum sounds right?

So, I think if we were in the US, she has a good chance to reach her dreams but here, probably not.

This is why I am interested in a list so I can look them up and show her plan B. Or should I let her dream? By the time we return, she'll be 13-ish. Right now she just loves the sport and really beautiful to watch.

Never say never....just keep up with her training as much as you can while overseas and then try to get her into a JO program when you return. Who knows what can happen when the heart and desire are there? That really does take you a long way and while maybe Div I college might be out of reach, anything is possible and there are also Div II and III (and collegiate club) as well. Definitely many Plan B options are there. So just keep working at it and see what happens.

Good luck!

If the gym you were liking the sounds of does Platinum and JO L7-10, then they must score girls out of L4 and L5 either before or after Platinum.
Platinum DOES sound like the perfect fit for her though.
A year of Platinum at 13-14; with proper uptraining, she should be ready for L7 at 14-15 and could get to L8/9 before graduating from high school... if that is still what she wants by then. And like @Seeker said, there are Division II and III schools and NAIGC club teams (they follow basically L9 rules, but any level can compete and they don't have to compete All Around).

I realized that it said University Club List in the thread title so here is a list of the NAIGC University Clubs. BUT, even if a school doesnt have a club now, it doesnt mean one cant be started... or there is always the Option to compete individually as an "Alumni Member":

Thank you soooo much for the list!! As much as I want her to reach her dreams, I rather she does college club than division. I like the list of club universities better ;) I am more academic than sporty :) I may just use the list to apply for a job.
