Hi, I`m just wondering if anyone can tell me what level i should be in.

Skills:
Floor - round off back layout, punch front.
Beam - Handstand, front tuck dismount (beam is my worst
Vault - front handspring (over vault deck)
Bars - backhip circle, almost kip, long hang pull over, straddle dismount. (woring on squat on)

Anything is appreciated!
Thanks.
Jenn

Hmm... you sound like you might be around my level...
I would say you would be somewhere between level 4 and 5 (probably not L4) because while you have fantastic floor skills (were you a cheerleader/tumbler?) and your vault is good, you need work on bars and beam. For L5, you're going to need a cartwheel on beam and a side-handstand twist dismount (which I'm sure you have if you're doing front tucks off of beam) and your bars sounds OK but you might need a front hip circle and a kip(?). If you were hoping to be a higher level, maybe talk to your coaches and see if you can get extra training at private lessons or something.

This is what i would say. Missing some skills. Yes you will need a kip. that is crucial. and so is a squat on.

thanks bunches.
I`m in gymnastics and through research I've found that by "internet standards" I should be in competitive but I`m only in advanced rec and I wanted to know where everyone else thought I should be... I`m thinking of switching gyms so I can be where I`m supposed to be!

Competitively you would be in level 4. The main reason for this is your bars. In order to progress past level 4 you need a good solid kip in low bars and a jump to high bar and a good solid kip on high bars. Bars is one of the most difficult area's to develop as a recreational gymnast. You would need a good solid bars session at least twice a week in most cases to get these skills to competitive level.

Thank you for your advice, it is helpful....
I`m seriously considering changing gyms, because I only train once a week for two hours and my coaches more enjoy standing around and socializing rather than coaching.
