I was wondering if there will be another qualifier added this year, or will KPAC be the last? I've heard that there were bids submitted in Feb for another one, but haven't heard anything beyond that (and not sure if that's even true to begin with). Asking because my gymnast has been battling injury for the last three months, and while she's better, she could use the extra month to regain her consistency if there indeed will be another qualifier.

I think the February meeting notes suggested there would be another qualifier, and I saw a conversation either here or on a Reddit thread that the Parkettes qualifier usually gets added late. Girls in our region have gone to that one before and I remember it being in April.

Edit: I looked up the results of girls whose names I know and it looks like in non-Olympic years the Parkettes elite qualifier has been in early June.

That's great info. And yes, looks like they've done that in the past. June would be much better than April. Do they do a qualifier every year? I'm thinking of pulling her out of next week so she can continue to heal.

I definitely wouldn’t make decisions on my advice. This would be a good question for your coach to bring up with USAG.

But regardless of if there will be another qualifier this year, it’s not worth it to push qualification if it risks making the injury worse, right? If a qualifier is scheduled and she’s healthy, then great, but if not, then it’s just another 9 months to get stronger and better.

Yes, definitely going to discuss with her coaches and won't make any decisions until then. But it has been on my mind for a bit. She is better physically, but she hasn't been training fully and needs to rebuild her consistency.
