The boys hit the gym last night after a great regional meet and it was quite the . . . interesting . . . practice. DS and his best buddy immediately ran over to the pommel horse and started doing L6 routines until they got kicked off and warned that they needed to be doing the usual warmup and that it was time to work on skills, not routines. It only got crazier from there -- they were bouncing around the gym like an entire bag of popcorn exploding. Moys! Stutzes! Back tucks! Yippppeeeeee!
As a last-ditch effort to regain control and sanity, their coach (who had three back-to-back sessions at regionals by himself on Saturday and then an additional one at the crack of dawn Sunday morning) kicked them all off the tumble track and made them do 150 pushups. Then they bounded back into the gym and did a million front flips over the horse and then FHS vaults, punching and poking each other raucously in between each.
The poor guy gave up a half hour early and sent them to the parents for their post-regionals party. Fortunately he has all day today and tomorrow to rest up before the barbarians arrive tomorrow night for more uptraining.
