...to compete? I keep reading post after post about a meet and I'm getting antsy! I don't know what it is! Maybe I'm going through some kind of withdrawal! Our first official meet isn't until the first weekend in December. We have a mock meet scheduled for the 21st of November but who knows if that will even happen!

Keep the updates coming! I love to hear meet stories and can't wait to share mine. Good luck to all those competing this weekend. Sending lots of fairy dust to all! :wizard:

First real meet for Baby Bog is Dec 3 or 4th, not sure if she'll be 100% ready but she wants to do this badly. I just hope she can handle it all. The kip came and went again, so she'll be taking the 0.5 deduction for a missing EGR.

Big Baby Bog's first meet is in Feb, I think, she hasn't vaulted since July so the wait is a good thing. She tumbled for the first time last week. She will be fine though as she can specialise.

Reading here makes me antsy, but nobody in Canada competes as early as they do in the US.

I totally hear ya Netty!!! Our first meet isn't until Dec 5th/6th and I am getting antsy as well!!! Maybe it is a good thing that dd still has 4 more weeks to practice, because some of her skills are still here and there . I'm sure it is probably like that for all the teams and everyone wants to be prepared as possible before they start competing, but I sometimes feel like you have to start somewhere, ya know? They have all year to master and perfect the skills so I am not too worried. And since this is an optional year for dd (Level 5 skills are optional for the Mason Dixon levels), she can switch out different skills if something isn't working for her. The kip is a bonus skill--with it the routine starts at a 10.0 without it it starts at 9.50, and the flyaway is optional as well. She has a couple different bar dismounts to choose from as well as beam dismounts. So I am really liking the flexibility that this league offers :D. I am sure that this next month is going to fly by!!!!!!!!!!

Yes still waiting! It seems like their last meet in May was so long ago. My youngest did a mock meet a few weeks ago and will have her first official meet Nov. 21st. Then both girls will compete the first week in Dec. at our home meet.
On the plus side: more practice and time will truly fly!
Good luck to you.

Still waiting here too! We opted out of a couple of travel meets, so it's our own fault DD isn't competing yet. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do. DD's 1st meet won't be until mid-Dec. I'm enjoying being a part of everyone else's cheering section though!:D

We start Sunday. I have been on pins and needles. The rest of the team starts next month. It seems like it has been forever for this season to begin and now I want about another month to get ready.

Still waiting here too! DD competes No27th weekend. I'm a bit nervous her new competitive suit won't be in so we have to borrow. I like everything prepared early. They videotaped her group today to show a judge for feedback. I'm hoping the next 3 weeks find her healthy!

We are still waiting too - first meet is next weekend. We just got our time slot - no so good Sunday night, so it will be a late one.

Next weekend is our 1st meet and I am starting to get nervous. I have not seen her do her rountines just pieces here and there. She tells me she has all her skills but I am still worried and hoping she can do all 4 events. (her gym is a real stickler and if they do not have all their skills they can not do all events.) I just hope she gets a 31 and qualifies for sectionals that way I can try to relax the rest of the season.

Here in Australia its to opposite competition season is now basically finished for the year. Our season begins in April and runs through to usually around september, although there are still a few comps occasionally later in the year, most are done now and we are in skill development mode. So its strange reading the posts about the comps just starting when ours are all finishing, or about you guys being in summer skill development when we are right at the height of our winter competition season.

Tell baby bog to hang in there - her kip will be back in time.

LOL, Netty, I WISH we were waitting to compete! Because the L5 season here used to start more like around Jan, I thought DD would have plenty of time to prepare, but then they changed the season so all 4, 5, and 6's are Sept-Jan/Feb.

Doing L6 must be exciting though! She's probably just as anxious and you are, LOL, and it will be here before you know it. Looking forward to hearing about your meet reports because then we will be just about done!

We have a judges eval this next friday novemebr 13th

No more meets till mid December and then 3 in January

Im with Kristilyn I am glad we are not starting yet. We had a great coach who went back to collge she graduates in mid December. She will be back end of December. Our Head Coach is great bit we miss our other coach cant wait till she is back.

DD will compete level 8 this year so it will be interesting how she will do. She seems to have really stepped things up this year....

We don't start until Jan. I can't wait. But it probably a good thing because her vault needs a lot more practice. Also she has only practiced her long hang kip once. I hope that we go into competive mode soon so that we are prepared for Jan.

I'm very anxious also!! Our state's meet season kicked off two weeks ago, but my DD's team will not start until 1/9. She moved up to level 5 this year. She has all of her skills, but she needs to work on the fine tuning, especially her front handspring. She looks like she is sitting in a chair when she lands.

It has been really nice watching how everyone's DDs have progressed in the last few months. I guess I will have to continue to live vicariously through others until January.

We have two meet season here. One is just ending - getting ready to go to sectionals and state. The main season starts in Jan and goes through April/May, depending on what level. Our gym only competes in the spring season though our girls do a critique meet in the fall. Our first meet of the season comes up at the end of January. Good for lots more pratice :)
