At what point does judging begin again when a gymnast falls from the high bar in the middle of a routine? Ex. If the gymnast chooses to kip on the low bar to jump to high bar, does that kip count or does judging resume only at the point where she fell?
Hi All,
My daughter is a gymnast that has been working the strap bar with gloves for quite a long time, working her form and technique. She is an older gymnast with a mature body. At some point, the decision will be made to try giants on the regular bar set. Have you seen how this has been...
I have a quick question regarding Level 7 Bars. It's my first year coaching optional levels and putting together routines so I want to verify that I have all the required skills in there.
I have two level 7s and one of them is afraid of giants (Although she does them very well when I talk her...
First, this is my first time posting. My daughter is a 10 yr old, level 5 gymnast. Everything I have learned has been through my daughters experience with gymnastics (this will be her 4th year competing) and reading things on here. Due to a very minor injury earlier in the week, my daughter...
We have a chin-up bar installed in a convenient spot in our house, and my little gymnast is obsessed with it. The only problem is, she constantly wants me to "help" her because she can't do as much as she wants to on her own. I've encouraged her to just grab and swing, or put her feet/ knees...
My daughter needs some snacks for during training. She has special dietary requirements that mean she cannot have wheat, dairy, honey, dates and a range of other things. I am not keen on giving her anything with added sugar. That just sets her up for sugar crashes, and is what I am trying to...
Question for you all knowledgable ladies and gents out there.
Bar sets, my dd's is 2,2,3- she's very little the shortest and youngest in the lv4 team. Do judges deduct for bar sets? If it's lower, closer like my dd's set?
I can do a squat on and catch the high bar 40% of the time. The rest of the time I fall backwards. My coach always tells me I need to "Lean farther" but if I do so on average a go so fast I don't have time to catch the bar!

Our gym permits them.......I have friends at other gyms where they are not allowed except for the older girls.....
We have a large gym with many boys and girls, and a lot of traffic.......
My DD wears them, and I have told her to keep wearing them for practice.....I can't imagine working out...
I have been coaching level 4 for a few years now and am having a problem with my new level 4's that I've never had. They have all their skills but almost all of the girls have peeled off jumping to high bar at least once. The bars are close enough, and they are jumping hollow but still peeling...
What are the cast requirements? I watched my daughter (at her request lol) for a few minutes today and it seems her casts for this routine have gotten much smaller than I ever remember them....
She has the power and ability to do more, that's why I'm wondering...
Don't worry-- no coaching...
I know zilch about bar settings. DD (8) is level 4. She's got her bar routine down, but she says she can only do the pike squat on jump thing to the high bar if the bars are set on 2 or 3. She is pretty short (<4 feet). She works out with some taller girls and today the bar was set on 5...
So I'm in level 4 and I can't connect my kip to a horizontal cast or horizontal cast to squat on. I do my kip and then I have to change my grip. I have to put my thumb under?? I feel like if I don't put my thumb under I'm going to lean over to far and fall. Any suggestions would be great...
With the search function doing its own thing at the moment, I thought it best to just ask rather than hoping it's fixed before I need to place the order! ;)
Choosing glove size was easy enough, but I don't know how to decide what loop size to get. I've always heard you're supposed to try other...
