Thanks to everyone here, we have pretty much decided to go with the new gym...usag.
Now I need to figure out a way to let her current coach know. I told my husband, I would like to leave it friendly so if she doesn't like it, she has the option to go back.
I would hate for her to hate...
Any suggestions on how to overcome fear! My daughter is moving up to level 6 and she is now afraid to flip! She can't do the fly-away on bars - she has never really tried to flip, even into the pit. She says she is afraid and doesn't know how. And now she can't do her round-off flip-flop...
My 10 yr old daughter has recently (this week) complained of some elbow pain when doing her bhs and sometimes her kip.. On a scale of 1-10, the other day she said 3 and today at practice 1.. She said it's not terrible, just hurts a little.. I'm icing it and motrin, but it doesn't hurt all the...
The camp at the UW is a day camp so we'll get a daily report on how things are going. She is very excited, first camp. If this goes well hopefully she'll be able to do an overnight camp next year (She'll be 11 then so we'll see).
Will be interesting to see what skills they work on, the UW...
Hi everyone! I just wanted to post my daughter's tops testing scores from yesterday and hopefully put up a couple of videos. ;) Naomi had a good day. Some weak spots but some really great scores, too. They are as follows:
right split - 13
left split - 15
bridge - 5 points
leg lifts - 5...
I'm looking for advice. I have been feeling more and more strongly that I need to make a move with my youngest daughter. I think she could progress more and be happier at a different gym. She has seemed very disheartened since being shelved by her Level 4 coach and mostly ignored for the past...
I have a 5 year old daughter, who is currently in preschool. She will enter Kindergarten in the Fall. She is in her third year of gymnastics. We did a "Mommy and Me" class when she was 2-3, then she took a "Tiny Tumbler" class at age 3-4. This year (age 4-5) she is in a developmental team...
My daughter is 11. She has been on her school competition team for 4 years. We will be moving this summer, and putting her in a club. I am curious as to where she may start with her skill level. On vault she does handspring full, handspring 1 and a half, and she has been working tsuks, and...
Hi, my daughter just started gymnastics and she loves it. She's been in competive dance for two years now, so she had a lot of tumbling under her belt. But, she just got on the bars, vault and beam for the first time yesterday. She is hooked!
I thought this site would be great a source of...
My DD is a strange one. She will do BWO, BHS, FHS all with coaches spot, but she won't do a cartwheel. She just refuses. I can't figure out why. I would think all of the above would be much harder. She just stands there and refuses. I asked her what was wrong after practice and she just...
to do an ariel (sp?) today. She nearly did it, but I was a nervous wreck when her coach asked her if she wanted to try it. Of course, she has no fear, so she said yes. She tried it twice, the first time better than the 2nd (the coach didn't spot her). Then she had one of the other level 3...
Well, tonight is my daughters first night in the class. She has done a couple private lessons to make sure she will be "okay" in the bigger kids class. I guess its more for advanced 5 year old ish. She isnt advanced at all but has great listening skills ect for her age. (she is used to long...
I have a 9-year-old daughter who is competing level 4 this year. She is doing GREAT, and I am so proud of her. What I am most proud of is how hard she has worked and how much she has overcome (medical problems and being moved to team without ever doing pre-team). I tell her all the time I am...
Okay let's just say I seriously think that the gym thinks they can just cut practice and not make up my daughter's practices anytime they want and expect parents not to get made when they pay fees for 3 practices a week. We pay 150 a month which is 20 more dollars than the 2 day a week groups...
My 5-year-old daughter asked me to make a video of her doing gymnastics. I didn't have too many clips, so it had to be pretty short! I'm going to see if I can figure out how to share it here!

I recorded her kips, tumbling and she and some of her teammates were running through the level 5 and 6 floor routines.
I also recorded her practice Level 4 beam, bars and floor routines last night and uploaded them last...
I'm having trouble deciding what to do with DD. She was placed on level 5 when she was 8 (Jun '06) but after a few months we decided to move her to 4 because we thought she didn't have the work ethic or maybe lacked the passion to inspire the work ethic. I've since discovered the problem was...

Had some initial problems and I can't add all videos yet, since they are too and I do'nt know how to make them smaller, like with photo's, will add her marks there too later today. But it is a really nice way of keeping track of what she is doing and to show family and friends...
Does your daughter have lots of different outfits, or just a few? When do they get a new one?
My daughter has 2 2nd hand ones, and 1 made one through someone on the internet, cause that wasn't too expensive. Here in Holland they are so expensive in speciality shops.
Now next month she is...
