Hi All,
Many of you know that my DD quit gymnastics last spring after suffering three broken bones in 1 year, and never being allowed to compete L7. Below is the skill she broke her foot on in January, a RO BHS Layout Full. Here she is doing it again, on the floor, landing in a pit that is...
I coach at a YMCA, and we have to set up our beams before we practce. We have 2 beams. On one, the rubber feet are gone (and were when I started coaching here). On the other, the rubber feet have worn down from being improperly moved too many times. I have looked all over the internet, but I...
when i do gymnastics, my hands and feet are pretty sweaty but this is usually just a issue during beam. when i step on the beam and start walking, you can see my footsteps from the sweat. does anyone have a solution for this? do you now if titegrip works or have anyother product suggestions...
DD (8) complained after training last Saturday that she had hurt her foot. She couldn't think of any specific thing that she did during training that triggered it or what time it started, it was just hurting afterwards. The sore spot is on the inside ankle, just below the ankle bone, around to...
I thought that many of you may find this interesting. My daughter has been having trouble with her back, ankles, and endurance. We started PT for her ankles, chiropractor for her back and were still unsure of endurance. One of her coaches who is also a PT noticed she had pretty "flat feet"...
I was wondering if anyone used foot undeez, something you usually find for dance. I was thinking about them, because my feet tend to sweat a lot, and it makes turning on beam and floor rather tricky. Are these even allowed for a competition either? Just thought they may be a cheaper alternative...
Have any of you experienced problems with your arches while being bare footed at the gym? Have you found anything that works?
I've been looking at the FABS and see that they have some pretty good reviews. I have also seen some stuff on Leukotape...not sure about it.
The only problem is, I...
Hi - I'm looking for some more drills specifically to help a number of my gymnasts that tend to backflip by jumping through their knees and not by jumping through their feet (hope that makes sense). We already do the jump back drill as part of our back flip circuit to try to encourage a better...
I recently started doing gymnastics again and I was doing full turns on beam and got this huge nasty foot rip, hurts something awful! Does this happen to anyone else? What do you do about it? I really don't want beam shoes.
This might be a silly question but bear with me  lol
I find that when doing spins/turns/pirouettes on floor, my foot gets "stuck" and stops spinning after about a 1/2 turn. My toes get caught and it just stops the rotation completely.
I can do double turns easily on other surfaces...
I haven't had much to say lately, I do respond to some posts here and there.
On Monday we went back to the Dr's for a follow up appt. For those that don't remember, dd broke her foot back on Jan. 19th - turns out she has a Jones' Fracture of the 5th metatarsal. Basically she broke the bone...
My daughter has sweaty feet and hands and I beleive this is hindering her from doing her skills. Sometimes on vault she almost slids off and this scares her alot.Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate anything.
My dd has mentioned a pain in the top of her right foot... about midway between ankle and toes and left side - top part. It is somewhat painful to touch - and hurts when she pull hers toes toward her (but not so much when she pushes them out). It is not really more painful during or after...
well, ankle fairies really! Despite it being her foot she broke, it's Beth's ankle that hurts--is that weird or normal?? I was resigned to her not doing all-around this year and not making it to State, but last night after I mentioned we had to order the t-shirts for State (club hosting is...
Sorry I have not been on CB for awhile. I have been planning our vacation! We are leaving on a cruise Feb 27th. I can't wait we will be visiting St Thomas and St Maartan. We are going on Royal caribbean Freedom of the Seas! We have been on this ship before and it is awesome! ANyway....back...
Well, as those who have been following know I went to the Ortho back on Thursday for dd to get her cast off before we travelled to Texas this past weekend and when I got to the office the entire Ortho dept was closed down and they never cancelled the appt. I was flaming hot! :hot: So off to...
DD is doing level 8 this year. I can hardley believe it!!
She is doing a counter for her release move on bars and has it down pretty good but, is still having some trouble hitting her feet on the floor once she catches the bar. Any hints that have worked to keep her feet off the floor...
DD has been struggling with her consistency with her cartwheel on beam. Sometimes she sticks a lot and other times just can't seem to get it. When she does her cartwheel she lands with her feet or heels diagonal on the beam and they hang off a little. Her coach spent a lot of time working...
Are flat feet common in gymnastics? MY daughter has been told by one of her coaches that she lands flat on her feet rather than on her toes when doing tumbling and that she could end up with flat feet. What are some exercises or stretches that could she do to help prevent this. SHe is trying to...
My DD (7yo) stepped on a nail and riped the bottom of her foot. it's right on the ball of her foot right under her toes - really bad spot.
Thankfully she's not back in the gym until Monday night
I think I'm going to have to wrap it. A bandaide isn't going to stay on.
What should I use...
