My dd 17 is having a hard time on floor all of a sudden. She said her feet don't sweat and are very soft (she does not put lotion on them). When she front tumbles and tries to land, her feet are slipping and she ends up on her butt. She said she should be able to land the passes, she is...
My Level 3 daughter just came home from practice and told me that she somehow slammed her big toe down on vault and that it really hurts. The pain is not really in her big toe though. When she bends it down, the pain is actually up the (in)side of her foot starting about 2 of my fingertips down...
My child has been really doing some hard tumbling and foot pain is really setting in. He has always had flat feet and the doctors have said they are 'flexible flat feet' or, when he is off his feet, the arch is there. When he stands it is flat.
Are there any good supports while doing gymnastics?
I have a few gymnasts that have the worst sweaty hands and feet. Does anyone have any ideas how to help with it. We tried using chalk for beam and it just doesn't work. Help please :)
So my DD came in a bit ago from doing chores... She had a nail go through her rubber boot and into her foot. OUCH! Her tetanus should be UTD, but I'll call the clinic tomorrow to make sure... Now I'm just worried about how this will impact her practice this week?! Or the next? Maybe it will...
I seem to be prone to bruised feet. Last year I dealt with bruised heels from back tucks on beam (obviously a separate problem involved since I shouldn't be landing flat foot on that skill!) but now it's the balls of my feet that feel bruised and painful to put pressure on. It came about when I...
So DD has been complaining of heel pain off and on for a few weeks now. We've been icing and giving Motrin when neded and her coach has been taking it easy on tumbling and vault. But this week her coach told me that she thinks her arches are falling or she is flat footed. Today she stood her up...
So my feet/ankles are just simply not that flexible, I can't really point them that far. My coach even told me that they don't point super far, and my sister who does dance says my feet are "terrible." I know it's partly just genetics, a few years ago I had plantar fascitis in one of my feet and...
My older gymnast (level 5) has always had a harder time with gymnastics and learning new things than his younger brother. He is keeping up in many areas, and surpasses his younger brother in form on most events, but he has no power behind him. On Pbars, he doesn't swing up to handstand, and...
Does anyone know any little tricks to stop hitting my feet. I understand it's easy when you're a tiny 11 year old, but how do gymnasts over 5 foot do it. I just need a way that will always work, because I can do the skills but sometimes when competing the bars are closer and I hit my feet.
Thanks:)
My daughter is almost 11 and getting ready to compete level 9 . She is working back tucks on beam as well as a new round off full dismount . Since she "bangs " her feet together when landing on the beam for these 2 skills , she has a bump and lots of bruising on that Boney part on the inside of...
I'm in Xcel Silver for the summer, and training most of my gold skills (cartwheel on beam, kip, front handspring vault, etc.) and the one thing that was holding me back was my roundoff-back handspring. Regardless of whether I'm competing gold this year or not, it would be totally embarassing to...
I'm 4ft 11 1/2 in. And my shoe size is 5.5Y (Youth) and anywhere from a 6-8 in women's depending on brand. I only have one pair of flip flops that run small that are a size 8. But I usually wear 6-7 women's. I realized that I should be around 5ft 3-4in with my shoe size. It does affect my beam...
Ok, so one of the parents kids accused us of giving their kids athletes foot. Now, I clean the mats religiously with bleach and soap, but I wonder, what can I do more, with like 100 kids all running barefoot. Can I realisticly make it a germ free enviorment or is there a cleaner that can kill...
Hello everyone,
My dd started gymnastics really late, at the age of 15, and has been doing it for 9 months. She does not compete and does recreational gymnastics (Level 3) for about 2-3 hours a week. Recently her foot's been hurting when she puts pressure on the ball of her foot. She also...
Any advice or insight welcome...my daughter is 6 and competed Level 3 last season and did great, aside from vault, although she still placed very well throughout the season. She is training to compete Level 3 (old level 4) now. She has very turned out feet...when she runs, jumps, walks. Coaches...
Okay, my DD (7), her feet are peeling. Mainly the balls and the heels. (more the balls than anything)
She has VERY sweaty feet and hands, and is constantly in the chalk trying to keep her hands and feet "dry".
I pointed out her sweat issue and her peeling feet to the Dr. Wanted to make sure she...
my kids do left foot in front for cartwheels but right foot for back walkovers. noone corected when it all started and now its too late for the correct leg to be natural for back walovers. is it too horible? both in rec classes age 7 and and almost 5.
For the last few weeks, my daughter has been complaining that her feet are slippery, which is causing problems with bridges and rope climbs. (Yes, I know she shouldn't be using her feet on the rope, but that's what she is told to do.) She tried telling one of the coaches about it, who literally...
Hello! I don't post very often, but I read & learn a lot! Oh, and I'm really not a CGM, I picked the name before I knew what it meant ;) if there's a way to change it I'd love to!
First meet of the season a week and a half ago my dd fell on her back tuck off the beam. She whacked the side of...
