So some people might know about my problems I've had with my giants--but anyways, I was just scared to go on double bars.. Before practice tonight, I just told myself I was going to do them.... And my bar coach wasn't there so a male coach (best spotter in the gym!) filled in.. AND I DID MY...
Finally! DD got her giant tonight at practice! Whoo Hooo! :D
Not an easy task for a 13 yr old, 5'3". Started in April so just a little over 6 months of hard work and determination. I have not seen them yet, but she told me she she did some doubles and multiple singles. The back hand spring on...
I don't know if you all remember my dd's story. She has always struggled on bars. Competed l7 last year and our gym required a giant. She scratched the first few meets and then came up with a baby giant/bad form giant. Basically, she found a way to get herself around the bar, but developed...

Hi all!
I've been doing giants on the strap bar for a while now, but when I tried working on the "regular" bar with grips, I was completely stuck and couldn't do even one.
Basically, what I wanted to know is - are there any tips that might help me out here?
I mean, there's got to be some...

I'm terrified of doing my giants on the set at gymnastics. I scared of hitting the low bar so extremely that I won't go and I really want to not be scared so I was wondering if anyone hew some ideas on how to get un-scared basically.

I have only been training Level 7 for about two weeks now but I'm very nervous that I won't get my giant. Is there any drills I can do at home or conditioning to help me get it and be good at it? If so please give me some advice!! Thank you :)
Two questions on boys high bar:
First, I have to boys that I think are nearly ready to work el-grip giants. Both have excellent shoulder flexibility and decent front giants. What's the best way to move forward on these?
Both can do tap swings in reverse grip and jam through to tap swings in...
What's the best way to improve the grip on a pair of p-bars to prepare for giant swings? I know there are a lot of different formulas out there (water, honey, syrup, magic voodoo dance, whatever) to allow kids to better grip the bars, but I never worked anything harder than a moy to upper-arm on...
My dd has been working on her giant for a long time. She finally did one by herself (without a spot) two weeks ago, but then was not allowed to try again by herself until yesterday. She did it again by herself after several tries. I'm so worried she is going to lose it, though, because she...
So the other day I was doing giants on a single bar, and I went to regrip and, I dont know how it happened, I let go!
My coach said that I had kind of stopped and tried to regrip but let go instead and then did some sort of weird flyway!
Does anyone know of someone who has done this?
On bars, i am having fear issues on connecting my giants to a flyaway. I will do a good flyaway timer, but when my coach tells me to flip, I just won't let go! It is really frustrating because I know I can do it, it just seems as if my body won't cooperate. Another girl on my team who started...
My grand daughter seems to be struggling with her giants. She does fine over the pit with a spot (even when the spot is not touching her) but has a fear of doing it on the actual parallel bars for fear of hitting her foot/feet on the lower bar. How can she overcome this fear? Is this a common...
