Hi just wondering if anybody could give me some advice on what to do about my dd hands. Today she came home in tears (never seen her this upset). I was told that she had to keep doing her chin ups as she kept slipping off the bar. When I looked at them there was heaps of blisters on them. I...
My daughter has sweaty feet and hands and I beleive this is hindering her from doing her skills. Sometimes on vault she almost slids off and this scares her alot.Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate anything.
I am the mother of a level 5 gymnast. She has been having problems with her hand stand. She does them great on a low beam, but once she is about two feet or higher she can't get past a level 4 hand stand. She is a great little gymnast but she has this block. I just wondered if anyone knew...
DD worked bars hard at practice tonight and ended up with a blister on her hand...not a rip yet.
She has states on Saturday at noon.
What should I do with it? Pop it or leave it? She has practice for 4 hrs tomorrow.
Rips and blisters REALLY bother her...what's the best thing to do to...
We have had many opinions on this in the gym--- how do you, as a gymnast or coach, have your gymnasts place their hands on their back handsprings on beam? I'm not a fan of hands on top of each other, or just thumbs on the beam. Our head coach thinks if your LEFT foot is in front (and landing...
Okay, so heres the story, my round off back handsprings suck. I can not get my hands on the ground when I do it, my couch says it's cause I don't get my feet under enough in my round off. Suggestions to help me improve is GREATLY appreciated!!!
Hi all, I'm just a beginner adult gymnast, but it seems like I get rips really easily - 2 rips on my first time on bars and I was only doing pullovers and cast-BHC. I've also had rips in the past just by swinging across the monkey bars at the park, so I'm wondering - how do I start toughening...
My daughters compete on Sunday.
Tonight my little one was skipping in the house. She slipped and hit her hand on the bookshelf that has a metal base. She cut her hand. Not stitches requiring cut, but deep enough it bled and pulled a little skin off-ouch. I put some meds on it and a band aid...
Hi,
I'm looking for tips on what to do with my hands while doing Front & Back tuck off trampoline.
When I'm doing front tuck I: try to get really high and set at the top of my jump, pull in fast as I begin to rotate; but then I always end up putting my hands down. I think it probably started...
Older dd is still in preteam anyhow I think her main thing she needs to get to move up is the backhanspring!
What are things she can do at home to help her for getting it?
(not nec working on the actual thing at home~ Too paranoid mom for her to do it with no spot till she has it down)...
I just stared the glide kip a little while ago and its getting there i just need to get my hand on top of the bar !!!!
I just can,t seem to get them on top of the bars soon enough to kip up ? everything ells is pretty much set!
Is there any drills to help pop get my hands on top of the...
Hi! I don't post often but I wanted to let everyone know how important it is to WASH YOUR HANDS! Just saying half the people at my gym and school are out sick. For all of those team members be careful not to share anything! We all know being sick sucks and might mean skipping some meets which is...
What's wrong with my hands?? They never ever rip!!! Even after I do bars for a really long time I still never rip!! It's really weird!! My hands just get really sore and only occasionally get callouses. I was talking to my friend about it and then this other girl on my team who I really don't...
I have pretty much always seen the BWO done with the 'thumbs together, fingers round placement. And the BHS done with one hand behind the other.
In coaching girls age 6-8, their coach is telling them to do the BWO with the BHS placement. Why might this be? Is it to get them used to it?
Also...
For those of you that have used wrist supports, which do you recommend-- Tiger Paws or Golden Hands? I am looking to get some and am not sure which one is better.
Most people and coaches I know use a version of the cartwheel hands being hands placed sideways in relation to the direction the gymnast is facing.
Some coaches T-action the second hand in line of the first hand or off line around the side. Obviously on beam it's inline.
Our HC showed me...
at gym last week, i did my BHS on low beam by myself and on the medium beam with the beam pad and a mat under it!! I used to be so afraid of anything on beam and i guess i just did it!!
And that day was the first day i really started working on them too! My mom is going to buy me a new leotard...
Hi like 2 weeks ago I hurt my hand. I hurt it on beam. And right after it happend I told my coach. The day it happend it was really swollen. But the next couple of days I went on vacation and just iced it alot. Then the next week I was back I tried to do backhandsprings on beam and it started...
Hey guys
How do u feel about ur hands??
Im proud of my ripped calloused rough hands in gym, but when i shake/hold other people's hands and their hand is softer than mine (especially when its a guy), I get kind of embarrased.
My friends are used of it by now, and they always joke about it, but i...
