WAG kids try new skills on their own - should I forbid it? And weird progressions in my L6 girls...

As you might know already, I am coaching some L6 girls at the moment. They started Layouts already and we worked on them today. Sometimes they do well, but often it looks much more like a whip. Today I went over the body shape for layouts once again and showed them some drills. The girls...

    WAG a L6 girl can't do a FH????

I am coaching a girls team due to illness if a coach. Girls are all Level 6. There is one girl who can do everything, but not a front handspring. She recently moved here from Europe (don't know which country but would guess someting like Netherlands) She might never have trained a FH or...

WAG Question re: Old L6 vs new L6, and L7

From what I know, the old compulsory levels were 2-6. I know they changed them up last year and are now 1-5. Still 5 levels of compulsory, skills relatively the same, all that changed were the numbers. That part, I've got. Am I right that they didn't make any changes to skills for optionals...

    WAG New level 6 experiences?

I'm wondering what kind of routines a new level 6 might be doing on beam, bars, and floor. My DD may be finishing out her season at this level next spring

    WAG Level 6 Vault

Is the only vault option in level 6 a FHS? I'm not very good at interpreting the USAG charts. :)

WAG requierements for new L6 and L7-confused

I am just a tumbler so I have no idea about the Levels in the USAG program! I thought about switching to gymnastics for 2 years already and since I recently moved town, there now is a gym near where I live and I could really do it! As I already have some prior experience in tumbling, I hope I...

WAG Level 6 bars cast & clear hip deductions

I remember a post about this from not too long ago but don't remember the answer. Do level 6s have different angle deductions than levels 7-10?

    Level 6 requirement Please help!

Can anyone please confirm if a sissonne will fill the leap/jump requiring 180 cross/side split on beam? These new rules are too complicated. Can't find any specific text to say it will. Dd is terrified to do her split leap. Any advice please?

WAG Curious Level 6 or Level 7...

Coaches-just out of curiosity, since the level changes and level 6 is no longer required, what do you use to determine whether a gymnast will move up to level 6 or level 7? If skills, please be specific.....

WAG Starting at L6 without any skills but strength and flexibility? Is that possible?

Hello! So my dd is a level 6 and trains 3x3 hours a week. Next month, my sister will move to our village. Her daughter is the same age as mine. She is a very shy girl and had a lot of problems in socializing and stuff. The only thing that she loved was doing Kung Fu and sometimes a CrossFit...

    Coaches Level 6 bars

Wondering if anyone has level 6's who competed this season and can share the details of their bar routines. Would love to know: 1. Description of the skills that made up the routine 2. The start value and why? 3. What the routine scored? Thanks in advance!

WAG Level 6 bars, once and for all

DD has had two L6 meets this year and has been struggling on bars, which is usually her best event. It seems like every time a question about bars at this new level comes up, there are differing opinions on what the cast requirements are. Are they the same as old L6 (above horizontal) or are...

WAG Difference Between New USAG Level 6 and Old Level 7

Hi Everybody, I'm new to CB and I'm so glad to have all of you as such an amazing resource for gymnastics. My dd is 8 and just completed her first season as a new level 3 (old level 4), but I noticed that some of her gymmies that just finished competing level 5 during the compulsary season here...

Coaches Level 6 Bar Routine Question

We are using L6 to give our kids that need extra time...a more relaxed year to learn skills. We need the routine that will score the best with these limitations... Gymnast can only cast to 45 degrees (A value cast) Gymnast can NOT clear hip to horizontal or above...

WAG Start value of a old level 6 routine done in Level 7

Just wondering what the start value would be for a kid who did a very nice level 6 (old) bar routine. Casts to handstand or close and free hip to at least horizontal. I can't seem to figure out if the baby giant is an actual skill with a value :)

WAG Other level 6 bars dismount option?

I know you can of course do a flyaway. Out of pure curiosity I thought I had seen a second option for a level 6 bars dismount? Does anyone know what this is?
