On the USAG site I thought I found it said that level 10 goes to nationals, 9 to Easterns and Westerns and levels 6-8 top out at regionals; but another friend said that other levels definitely go to nationals. So... how does it work for girls?? What levels go to nationals?
Some of y'all may recall my thread from last year where my younger sister competed at nationals in Spokane:

This year we're in Ft. Worth, Tx, which is disappointingly close to home - I would have preferred something more "exotic"...
Nationals for 2016 will be in Providence, RI, June 8-13, 2106. Gee, USA Gymnastics could you consider all of the athletes in the western half of the United States for a change??? It's not just the cost of travel, but the extra time it takes to travel to the east coast and the jet lag.
I know it's over, but can someone tell me the requirements for a Region 8 L10 to make it to nationals?
Was it a minimum score, or percentage, type of requirement?
Thanks in advance!
WHEW is all I can say....as a host team family we all worked so hard all weekend to pull this meet off. In the midst of the controlled chaos...Sophia competed. First was floor...gorgeous routine and a fall on last pass....I held my breath and she did a beautiful vault (Start Value 9.7) and...
Just got back to the hotel after my daughters first nationals. This whole year has been one long bar struggle, with major fear issues that at one point were to severe that her coach almost made her an event specialist on the other 3 events. And of course we find out at the meet today that the...
In case anyone is interested, USA Gymnastics has a bunch of videos from L10 nationals up on their Youtube channel, including lots of Kiwan Watts' total AWESOMENESS!
What a journey! Sophia made her first bar routine without a fall, survived beam and fell on her best event floor! But she held on and qualified to JO Nationals...so excited!
You would think that it would be fairly simple - take the number of L10s and divide them evenly into 8 age groups. Of course, many won't qualify for regionals but you still should have a pretty even number across the board. But that doesn't seem to be the case if there are some age divisions...
Does anyone know when the allotments for Nationals will be announced? I assume they'll be more or less the same as last year. My ds really wants to qualify, but it's kind of a long shot. One more slot for our region could make the difference.
Well it looks like they finally found a host for both Elite Canada in January and Nationals in May...
Lots of driving to Quebec this year...
Gymnastics Canada has confirmed dates and location of Nationals. This is way, way late compared with normal.
Artistic Nationals – Gatineau, Quebec – May...
Anyone notice that 10 year old beam skills only add up to 9 points on the USAG website? I'm just wondering if they accidentally forgot to put a necessary skill in writing it if maybe the value of something was written incorrectly.
