Hello all,
As a fairly new gym parent, about to take that next step into the crazy team world, any advice you can provide at all is always helpful!
So to help me further, or help any other new gym parents that might be out there...what is the best piece of advice you can think of that can...
I'm looking into switching my daughter to a different gym. As much as I really don't want to, her school schedule will make it impossible to get her to pre-team practice on time. So, reluctantly I'm gym hunting. I have set up a couple evaluations at other gyms in the area, so they can decide...
Hi everyone. DD is a level 6 and decided to leave gymnastics after falling on her head while doing a cast to flyaway. After a few weeks of her crying and regretting the decision to leave gymnastics, we are now in the process of finding a new gym. She doesn't want to go back to her old gym...
Hi all,
My dd wants to try out other gyms as a result of some issues I described in a prior post here: http://chalkbucket.com/forums/threads/help-pressure-to-switch-to-excel-and-leave-compulsory-track.52266/#post-397667
Do you have any advice for how to find a new gym? I'd like to have her...
Hello all
I'm a new gym mom and I have 2 girls in the sport. My oldest DD 9 ( soon 10) just finished her level 3 season and not sure on her placement for next year. My youngest DD ( 8 tomorrow) did level 3 but at the AAU level and going JO in the summer/fall. Again not sure 3 or 4.
I can say...
Tomorrow my DD will be evaluated at a new gym because we are considering a change (details re: our situation are in a different thread but, in a nut shell, DD is being directed from pre team to an Xcel program rather than JO at her current gym despite having an expressed interest in JO). I have...
I have a parent that is switching gyms and she wanted to know if there are any questions she should ask the other gym before enrolling.
Her daughter is level 7 very talented and my main concern is they are willing to move and not compete state. Would you say that is okay to do?
If you could...
So glad I found these forums! The wealth of info here is awesome! I have 2 boys and my little girl gymnast is stuck in the middle. She took gymnastics when she was 3 and it was like watching the coach herd cats so we quit. She begged for years and so we started back a year ago, January 2014. I...
I'm going tomorrow to check out a new gym..and by new I mean not yet opened, no gymnasts, still installing equipment gym.
What should I look for/ask about that might be different than just moving to another established gym? What might be a downside with going with a new gym? I can guess...
Leaving the old gym was VERY difficult.....it was like leaving home. If I think of the old coaches, I get teary just because they are such good people, and my kids were SOOOO safe and happy there.....the organization was a different story. We left because we always knew the program was limited...
Hi Everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place to post but am really hoping I can get some insight. My daughter is 6 and has been going to gymnastics since she was 2! She was selected for the developmental program when she was 4 ...on two different occasions I was asked to move her. So...
(this got a bit long, sorry!)
I'm not moving to the area for another few weeks, but I'm going down there tomorrow morning for a few days to look at places to live and to target all the possible jobs that aren't the big chains or advertised online. While I'm there, I'll be trying out one of the...
So my DD will be going into her 5th competitive season this year and we recently moved about 2+ hours away from her old gym. She wanted to continue to do gymnastics so I spent some of the summer researching new facilites and we found one that fit. I just wanted to share that it has been a...
Wow! What a crazy couple of weeks! Our move was very overwhelming and still is! We are all happy and trying a little everyday to get settled.
DD starts at her new gym tomorrow morning. She's pretty pumped about it. Had one of many team building/bonding events this past weekend. Met most of her...
my daughter (age 9, xcel silver) switched gyms about a month ago and i feel like she's gone backward in some skills. she is being very timid on beam with her handstands & cartwheels, her vault is looking wonky and she just won't give her all to master a BHS so while she does them beautifully...
Hi everyone, what a great forum! I wanted to say hello and it looks like I am going to learn a ton here. My daughter is 5 (just turned 5 in March) and started gymnastics in August. After a few months her coach asked if she would like to move up to the advanced tots class but she had soccer on...
Hello Community!
My account just got approved - yay! So hello everyone, I am very glad that I found this website
I want your opinion and would appreciate everyone's input.
Two of my girls are in gymnastics since 3 years, older DD (14) does it more for fun, spends most of her time tumbling...
So, as I've posted we are preparing to move mid August. We had to make a trip to our new place for the closing on our house so we decided to pop into DD new gym. We thought since we were there we might as well go in and see if there was any paperwork we could take care of. Much to our surprise...
So as I have posted already we are moving and DD will start her new gym mid August probably.
Question is, we have received the events calendar for August and September already and all I can say is WOW!! So many team bonding things, a parents booster event and many other things. Being the "new...
Just wanted to update .. Noah started the tumbling class today. He really loved it , and there are other boys in the class . They have a really great coach ( a guy) and from what I understand they plan on expanding :)
