Is this possible? Too dangerous? Hibar and PBars it is done, granted the bars aren’t moving. But as this sport has evolved so much, could this be a possibility in the future? The athleticism is unbelievable in this sport and the difficulty just keeps increasing. Have you ever seen a release move...
My daughter is trying to move on to level 10. The only thing she is missing is the single rail release move on bars. They are wanting her to do tkatchev. Between COVID and some medical issues/injuries last year, she missed most of level 9 and really did only one meet. She was a level 9 the...
Non quarantine related question about the bars. My daughter and I were talking about what she’s looking forward to working on when gym reopens. Bars is her favorite event. She did level 9 last year and will no doubt repeat but is looking forward to working upgrades. One release she is eager...
Looking for advice please. Our gym had a photographer in for team photos in 2017 and I just received a request and model release form asking to use DD's photos for their promotional material. No offer of reimbursement, of course! I'm not always good at identifying unforeseen circumstances...
I know some things recently changed (well in September) with the requirements and I was just wondering. DD has a Tkatchev in her routine - and a shootover to HS. But other girls don't have a single bar release... Just wondering.
The bar release move thread got me wondering how they choose which release moves work best for which kids.
My dd is going into her level 9 season. She and two other teammates are doing Paks and everyone else on the team does bails. Now that she has her pak she is starting to work the bail as...
Just curious....
Is there a list that shows "easiest to most difficult" (if that's a real thing)?
And when did your DD's start training them?
And when can they compete said release moves?
And any other "need to know" info...
Thanks!
I am looking to compete Xcel diamond which requires a release move or pirouette on bars. I think the release move is my best bet. What is considered the easiest or most basic release move? Thanks!
Is there a way to spot a tkatchev? My daughter said she seems to get lost in the air. We had a guest coach over the summer who told her to try to be a "visual" gymnast. She taught her what she should look at or see when she is doing her double backs, her yurchenko and beam flight series...
I saw an old post asking about heel protection for release moves. You may want to take a look at Custom Imact Shelds at https://www.facebook.com/#!/americancore
They can be ordered at Link Removed
DD who just finished her L7 season came home from the gym the other day with video below on her ipad. I am not surprised by a lot she does anymore but this one left me with my mouth hanging open:
My daughter is a level 9 who was out with an injury for over 3 months. She recently began practicing again and has competed one time. When she competed she did not do her overshoot as she is having fear issues right now. She did a pirouette and took the deduction for only having one bar change...
I heard that they changed the release move requirements to be 1 high bar and 1 transitional bar release. So the standard bail/Chinese sit up doesn't cut it. Has anyone heard about this?
I would appreciate a little background on UB release moves. Don't care how to do them or train for them (that's the coach's role), but I found myself going to You Tube when DD told me she figured out her shootover last practice. I know she's also been working on a straddle back. What I was...
Hey guys,
So a couple of the girls at our gym and I have been working on Bails, Geingers, and Yaegers (is that spelled right?) on bars. I was wondering if anyone would like to share what drills they do at their gyms to prepare themselves to better learn the skills. I also wanted to know if anyone...
The only ones that are taught at my gym are the shootover/bail and straddle backs...other than a pac salto, what are other acceptable release moves on bars in level 9?
