I figured now is as good a time as any to give a long update on both of my DDs. We've gone through a ton of changes in the past 6-8 months, with more to come this summer. Their seasons are officially complete- we've declined regionals for both sports for financial reasons with our upcoming move...

Any other coaches/gyms experiencing pre season breakdown? Kids loosing skills, blowing the first meet, tears, parent complaints.......How common is this??? Im lucky with my DD since she does not get too crazy....shes very logical and plays it off very cool....... coaches, how do you handle this...

I feel like it's been forever since my DD has competed, she and I are both so excited that her meet season is about to begin. To be fair, she has done one in-house meet (this was around Thanksgiving) and she also competed at the Peppermint Twist meet (first weekend in December) but this weekend...

First meet done! Bars- 9.050 4th Place Beam- 8.700 8th Place Floor- 9.025 6th Place Vault- 9.000 6th Place AA- 35.500 6th Place Not Great, not bad either. Aiming for better beam scores. No falls, but huge steps during front tumbling. Came home with 5 medals!

We had our competition yesterday and the scoring was SO different! Nate only got a 9.5 on pommel after getting 10-11+ for the last two seasons in the same level. We had the Olympic judge on pommel and the scores were very low....except for a couple of super stars who got 10-11+...Yikes! Last...

and it was oh, so so fun!!! My dd did wonderful...she's only five and scored mid 8- low 9's for level 2, and did better every single meet...and most importantly, walked out of each one looking forward to the next. It was really fun watching her through this, working hard and having a blast...
