Hey guys. At my meet on Saturday, us Xcel Silvers performed our floor routines just like at the previous meet in late december, where we started out of a 10.0 start value. At this meet, we were judged out of a 9.5 start value! I can't seem to understand why we were lesser this time, as my coach...
So, twice this season, we have seen this happen, so I am curious as to whether or not it is normal.
On vault, level 7, a yama****a has a value of 12.5. 2 times this season, from 2 differnet judges, we have seen the same kid score a 12.7 and a 12.8. Granted, he vaults well, but those scores...
Just wondering what the start value would be for a kid who did a very nice level 6 (old) bar routine. Casts to handstand or close and free hip to at least horizontal. I can't seem to figure out if the baby giant is an actual skill with a value :)
Can someone help me out? I don't quite understand start values...

If a floor routine will include: pike double back, roundoff back 1.5 twist front pike, front handspring front layout front layout, double turn, switch side popa. What is the start value for Level 10? for Level 9?
What if she does a front full instead of one of the front layouts?
If a beam...
What is the start value for these vaults?
Front handspring on and full twist off
Front handspring on and 1 1/2 twist off
Front handspring on and double twist off
Thanks in advance for any help on this one. :-)
Skills include Backhandspring backhandspring connection, one arm backhandspring either connected with split jump ( or if conection fails then I stop and do split jump straddle 1/4 to get the same bonus ) switchleap straddle 1/4, full turn, front pike dismount.
Would the start value be a 10.0...
Hi, this question is for judges and coaches...
My dd who is a new Level 8 for this year plans to do this bar routine: kip cast handstand 1/2 pirouette, kip cast handstand clear hip above horizontal, kip cast squat on, long hang kip cast handstand, giant, layout flyaway. Most of her team does 2...
Board mount to kip cast horizontal shoot over, kip squat on jump to high bar, kip cast 1/2 turn, kip cast bounce back layout dismount.
Would this meet all requirements for a level 9 gymnast? Would it start from a 9.7?
what is the start value of the level 8 floor routine if they do a layout instead of a full? Also are there any more deductions other then start value if this skill is missing?
My daughter (10 yrs.) will start the season next month at a L7. Her beam and floor are very strong. Bars are getting better quickly. It seems they don't practice vault as much at our gym and I've heard the start value is still 10.0 at L7 with a front handspring. If she moves to L8 (coach says...
Can anyone tell me what is the start value of this routine for L9 bars? Does this routine meet requirements for L10? Thanks in advance. P.S. I trust my dd's coaches, I was just curious as I have no clue how the start values and bonuses work for L9/L10...
Lowbar: kip, squat on,
Highbar: kip...
My DD is hoping to compete L8 this year. Early this summer she was doing full and a half twist and a front through to full.. now she is struggling with both.
Would the following passes fulfill the L8 Requirement?
RO BHS Full
Front Handspring front layout.
RO BHS Back Lay out
