Does back tumbling affect your back more than front tumbling?
On Monday, my DD did a robhsbt and over-rotated it. She apparently managed to still land it on her feet, but reportedly tweaked her mid-back.
She's been complaining on and off about pain, to varying degrees.
The next day, we knew...
I have a very general question about optionals. How much front tumbling do you really HAVE to do to work your way thru the optionals? DD has what she needs for her level 6 routine, but front tumbling is a struggle, and well... back tumbling is not. Does some form of it need to be seen in every...
What tumbling passes are required for L8 floor?
Dd is recovering from an injury and is hoping to compete a modified routine in a few weeks.
Is it possible to have a starting value of 10.0 without doing any back tumbling and no front handsprings? Basically, all hands-free tumbling? Possible...
My daughter will be a second year level 6. Her back tumbling pass is strong, it's a RBH BT or layout with no issues. Her front tumbling is not near as strong. Last year she did FHS walkout FHS. She was getting deductions for her entry (too high). She still has not mastered the FHS FT and...
Ok so some of you may have seen my other post about my DD'd lv 4 class getting cut to 6 hrs a week. There are no other other gymnastic near to transfer to. But there is a USAG tumble and trampoline place. Does anybody have any experience with T&T? Will it help at all in all around? My DD's weak...
Hi all,
I recently bought and started using the Pegasus All Around shoes and love them. However, I have noticed that when I do turns with them on beam, they leave quite a mark on the beam cover. I'm going to a camp at another gym this weekend and don't want to be ruining their equipment. So...
My daughter is on Xcel bronze (6 hours a week) and is also taking a dance class offered at the gym. (7 hours total) It's required for gold and above but offered to all team girls. Tumbling used to be her strongest area but I feel like she is well balanced now in all areas. She is so close to...
Okay so every time I do a skill(mainly on floor) that I have to use my arms I like collapse. When I do front handsprings by arms bend so I can't rebound out of it. And when I do my kip CH on bars, my arms start to bend and I almost flip over! When I do my back handsprings my arms are also...
I am not a strong back tumbler, I have roundoff, but not a back handspring. I'm moving into my gym's xcel program this season (2015-2016), and I'm not sure what tumbling passes I can do and meet the requirements. I have a front handspring, front handspring step out, and close to a front tuck. I...
D is learning his double back, double full, back lay with 2 1/2 twists. But, he is learning them all right out of a roundoff...no backhandspring. Is this normal and ok?
I am a pretty powerful tumbler. I have a very high and nice RO BH BL and I also do double backs into the pit with my coach.
I want to have Front Handspring - Front Layout in a year.
The problem is, at my old gym (I switched 2 months ago) we hardly ever worked front tumbling combinations, only FH...
Just a quick question to parents/coaches - do your level 6 gymnasts compete 2 tumbling passes on floor or 3? I have coached levels 3-5 for the past few years at my current gym; however, we just hired a new coach that will take over pre-team and level 3. So I am now coaching levels 4-6. I...
I posted a couple of month ago about my daughter ( age 10) level 4 who was struggling with mental block on RO BHS BHS. We just finished state meet and honestly it never really got better. She would complete with the coach coming out on floor but not touching her, she could not run but would...
My sister is a L5. Her coaches make her train Bounders, also called Flysprings, a lot more than Front Handsprings.
She also does drills for Bounder - Front Tuck on mats and they want her compete Bounder - Front Tuck for L7.
When I asked her she told me they want her to do Punch Front Layout -...
I have a nice and high running front tuck/pike/layout. My Layout is very archy though to get around!
I also have a front handspring and a flyspring with a nice rebound.
I have never tried connecting any front skills together, but I once tried FT FT on my trampoline at home. I think I can...
wondering if anyone out there can tell me if a FHS-PF-PF is an allowable level 6 tumbling pass..? I can't really see why not, but want to be safe rather than sorry!
My daughter has difficulty with front tumbling skills. I have heard that front, front combinations are either extremely easy or extremely difficult for a gymnast, depending on the gymnast. Can anyone explain why that is the case? Can it change for the gymnast or will this always be an issue?
i am doing an article on gymnastics and one of the things i need to talk aboutis the pressure gymnasts bodies go through, i have seen a picture somewhere, facebook/twitter/intsagram about how much force the body goes through when tumbling but i cant remember for the life of me where i saw it and...
Hello. I'm new this season to Xcel. I have a gymnast that is gold. Her tumbling is a big struggle for her. Her first pass is a ROBHS. My hang up is her 2nd pass. Her front handspring is very weak so a front tumble pass is kinda out till we fix it. She doesn't have an aerial, and her front salto...
