Hi there. My daughter is an Xcel Gold gymnast (14 yrs old) who is looking to move up to platinum this season. She has almost every requirement she needs except a front salto pass on floor. However, one of her coaches is requiring that the current XG girls have a bhs on beam to move up to...
Hi everyone,
There are a couple current xcel gold gymnasts who I want to move to platinum for next season. One of my girls is super nervous about moving up because she doesn't feel prepared on bars. I'm looking to find some feasible routine ideas for her. On bars, she currently competes...
Hi fellow coaches, this is my first full year coaching Xcel and I have some questions about teaching twisting vaults for Xcel Platinum and Diamond. The other coaches at my gym don't have experience coaching these vaults either, so I've come here looking for some more information at the very...
I am an adult competitive gymnast competing xcel platinum. Normally I compete BWO-BWO, but my lower back has been having some issues. I tried switching to HS-BWO but I am very inconsistent landing the HS square enough to connect (don't even get me started on cartwheels). I was wondering, could I...
We are debating a whether or not to have my daughter compete Xcel Platinum vs. a second season of JO Level 6 (or maybe 7, but unlikely at this point). Does anyone know if there is a minimum height requirement for the vault table for Xcel Platinum? She likes to vault on a low setting. I don't...
Hi, I am hoping to compete platinum next season, but I'm not sure what to do for vault. I can do a front handspring but it's not that great. Any suggestions of other vaults with a 10.0 start value for platinum?
My goal is to move to Xcel Platinum (after 3 years of Gold) next year, and I've looked over the requirements a lot. I'm confident that I understand all of them except for the floor requirements. I know you need a switch leap and obviously a turn, but for tumbling, what I'm reading says you only...
My daughter is competing Platinum this year. She had a beam routine for level 6 but due to injury is doing Platinum instead.
Will her beam meet platinum requirements?
Regular mount
Full turn
Split jump- straight jump
Bwo-bwo
Back tuck dismount
I know she needs a B skill - since she’s...
I am asking this for a friend. Her daughter has done two years as a level six. Done fairly well, has some upgraded skills, would say she is in the middle skillwise. The child would like to do less practice time now that high school has hit, and is lucky the gym has xcel available and waiting...
Is there a minimum time for floor routines in platinum. I know it can not be longer than 1 minute 30 seconds, but can it be as short as a minute? Trying to figure out if DD needs a new routine.
Hey All,
In Xcel Platinum, the gymnasts are required to have 6 A valued skills and 1 B valued skill. Although there is time left to achieve our goals, one of my gymnasts does not have her B valued skill yet. What is the deduction for not having that B valued skill?
Thanks to anyone who replies!
I just moved to xcel Platinum and I'm wondering if these routines would have a 10.0 start value
Vault: half on-half off
Half on-full off
Bars: kip, cast, clear-hip, squat on, kip,
cast, clear-hip, tuck flyaway
Beam: leap switch leap, full turn...
Hi,
I'm not sure if anyone else has already asked this question as I have not been on chalkbucket often as of late.
I was wondering about the reasoning behind devaluing the front handspring vault in Xcel Platinum to a 9.8 start value. Platinum is not equivalent to level 7, so why is our...
My DD is doing Platinum this year after being in JO. We have a large xcel team but this is the first year offering platinum as we tend to focus on JO for skills aligned with level 6 and up. So, I am not sure if there is some missing info, but I am trying to understand if my DD is missing a B...
I am not a strong back tumbler, I have roundoff, but not a back handspring. I'm moving into my gym's xcel program this season (2015-2016), and I'm not sure what tumbling passes I can do and meet the requirements. I have a front handspring, front handspring step out, and close to a front tuck. I...
Hello Chalkbucket! I am a 15 year old Xcel Platinum. I have competed two years previous to the Platinum season that I just finished; old L3 and new L4. Assuming that I have all of my skills come next season, I am planning on competing L7. What I am understanding is that in order to get there...
