So coach pointed out to me that DD intoes especially with one of her feet. Being very unobservant, I never noticed it, but she's always been a big w sitter, so I guess I should have wondered. Anyway, doctor says it is something she will likely outgrow. Doctor Doesn't seem too concerned about...
How many hours would you let a just turned six year old train assuming she's the most talented six year old ever. (Mine is not of course!!!)
Just trying to see if adding TOPS is a good idea.
Is it normal for 4 year old girls who have only taken about 2 months of gymnastics (once a week mostly) to be doing really good cartwheels, one-armed cartwheels, round-offs, one-armed roundoffs, (I think it was called a pull over), and they do something like a handstand and fall into a bridge...
My twin 4 year old girls have recently been invited onto the "team" they have just recently completed their first 10 sessions. Their only gymnastics prior to that was I think a half day week long camp last summer and a hip hop tumble class which was pretty basic in a dance studio. They literally...
Have a pretty basic question. Can I tape up DDs hand some to help prevent rips. Will it get in the way of the rest of her practice? The gym is getting hotter, and she came home with her first rips. I know it is part of the sport and she needs to learn to deal with it, but she is 5 and that sort...
Hi Dunno,
Saw your remarks in the coaches section. I have five year old on preteam in a group for 4-6 year olds, though in reality they are all 5-7 with the year almost over, and moveups soon. She will be six at the end of the summer. The group has been doing running, diving and doing...
I just found this forum, and I've been browsing a lot of threads. My daughter turned 5 in January. She started gymnastics at age 2. She stopped from about ages 3-4 due to finances. We switched gyms due to scheduling conflicts, and I wasn't happy with the program or the customer service...
USAG Level 7 Virginia State Meet - YouTube
OK....this won't be as involved as some of the great reports...the details are always fuzzy for me!
Started on Vault...first in her flight...9.5 Lowest score in the flight
On to bars...AWESOME 9.7 (started in level 7 at a 8.4) WOOT WOOT...
I'm sixteen years old, this is my fist year coaching gymnastics. I have a little advanced class of 5-7 year olds. The kids that I'm coaching are alway running all over the place and not listening to me. The kids do not respect me. I need a way to better discipline them. Maybe some advice of how...
My 5 year old was telling me about her practice last night, and they were practicing one-handed cartwheels. Then she tells me her coach demonstrated something amazing. "Mommy, she did a Mermaid! It was a cartwheel with NO hands!!" I asked her, "She did a WHAT?" She looks plainly at me and...
Oh, on the trampoline in the bungee harness, lol!
Thought that would get you all upset and ready to chew me out. :)
They had about an hour of playtime yesterday afternoon after some pretty hard conditioning. They were "peter pan" flying and having a ton of fun.
I haven't been on in a long time but have enjoyed reading about all the successes your young gymmies are having. States are in 2 weeks and I can't believe the season of craziness is almost over. Background...my little gymmie was a level 5 last season, tested and made it onto the National Tops...
It took my boy 3 months to learn carrwheels when he was 4 1/2 and i thought it he was young and it was fast. WELL... now my 3 year old girl in gymnastics. It took her 2 weeks to learn it :) So amazed.
Here is little clip of her home practice. THANK YOU for watching :)
I keep hearing about 13-14 year old who just started gymnastics and progress level 5-6 in a year. This seems amazing to me! I suppose they do this because they don't want do be in a class with 7-12 year olds. Being a late 13 year old starter and 14 years old currently in level 3. I wonder, is...
I have a 6-year-old daughter who was born premature. We put her in a gymnastics class just before her 3rd birthday to help with balance and coordination. She loved the class and it really helped her develop her motor skills. She is in a recreational level 2 program once a week for an hour and...
I'm interested in your experiences :)
DD is now training 4 days a week. I am now worried (in my usual stress head way ) that it's too much.
She's only just 7 (but competes as an 8 year old this year because of her dec birthday). I know gymnastics is intense very early on, but I...
My daughter is 9 and competed level 4 USAG this year. This was her first introduction to competitive gymnastics and she loved it. Her gym didn't participate in many meets - only two - and they didn't bring the girls to sectionals or states even though they all would have qualified for...
