It took my boy 3 months to learn carrwheels when he was 4 1/2 and i thought it he was young and it was fast. WELL... now my 3 year old girl in gymnastics. It took her 2 weeks to learn it :) So amazed.
Here is little clip of her home practice. THANK YOU for watching :)
I keep hearing about 13-14 year old who just started gymnastics and progress level 5-6 in a year. This seems amazing to me! I suppose they do this because they don't want do be in a class with 7-12 year olds. Being a late 13 year old starter and 14 years old currently in level 3. I wonder, is...
I have a 6-year-old daughter who was born premature. We put her in a gymnastics class just before her 3rd birthday to help with balance and coordination. She loved the class and it really helped her develop her motor skills. She is in a recreational level 2 program once a week for an hour and...
I'm interested in your experiences :)
DD is now training 4 days a week. I am now worried (in my usual stress head way ) that it's too much.
She's only just 7 (but competes as an 8 year old this year because of her dec birthday). I know gymnastics is intense very early on, but I...
My daughter is 9 and competed level 4 USAG this year. This was her first introduction to competitive gymnastics and she loved it. Her gym didn't participate in many meets - only two - and they didn't bring the girls to sectionals or states even though they all would have qualified for...
These awesome girls did an exhibition at the NC State Meet 1/14/2012.
So CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!! Crowd loved my choreo and my little mama rocked it with her big girl buddy from our gym! So proud of these girls! GO PCG AND GO PACK!
Tiny 5 Year Old Gymnast Cam ROCKS NC State! - YouTube
Hi all, I started my 4 year old (will be 5 next month) in gymnastics classes in January, shortly after her 4th birthday. I signed her up just for fun (no competitive aspirations) The facility does have pre-team and team levels up to level 10. I know absolutly nothing about gymnastics, but things...
Hi! I am new to Chalkbucket! As a coach and parent, I am so excited to begin using these forums!
Cameron is five and trains in NC. A few bobbles, but we're on the right track! I would love feedback!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhNPie26w0U
Have a great weekend,
Erin
And what is the majority of their time spent doing at the gym? I read (on here I think) that between the ages of 5-7 most of the training is conditioning and not apparatus work, is that true?
Hi all...coach just called from vacation...Little Bit scored above an 80 and was one of the top scores!! I had already found out she made it but WOW...so excited for her!!
On to Texas
K
I feel like I leave and then end up back here...
Once upon a time my dd did gymnastics and moved up to preteam, then we moved to Texas and she quit due to the change in coaching environment. We are now entering her 3rd season of all star cheer and yesterday she comes up to me and says "Yeah I...
Hi!
First post, but I'm really stressing and need a bit of perspective on my daughters gymnastics.
She's 6, coming up to 7 at the end of the year. She was taken out of recreational and put on the club squad back in January, and trains 3 hours once a week. I used to do artistic gymnastics...
I guess this would fit in the Adult Gymnastics thread but I figured I'd post here that way if someone else knows the answer they can answer. :D
Question:
Can 18 year olds (Or over, I mean I turn 18 in August, so I'll just be 18) compete AAU?
Is that possible?
I've heard some of the other...
I have to update my siggy, b/c DS is no longer just a furniture climber. He had his first preschool gymnastics class today and he loved it. He is the smallest in his class and it is just so cute. Here is the video, he is the boy in the white shirt! And the little girl is his cousin so they...
Shallon Olsen
So, remember the baby from canada, shallon olsen? Well, she has improved. This week at nationals, she took all around national title in the High Performance Novice category. She also found time to upgrade her vault to an amazing double twisting yurchenko. Remember, she is 10, and...
Any advice for a parent about daughter joining prep op team (this is not level 6, it's the newer alternate team I think mostly for older girls who don't make JO or want less intensity). 7 year old tried out for prep at very competitive and busy gym, offered prep op. In gymnastics 2 years (rec...

DD 7.5 does dance also among many other activities and only does two days a week in the gym. (She is home schooled and above age grade so she is well rested, sleeps until she...
