I am a level 6 gymnast and i totally have my backwalkover on more of a squishyish beam bu there is this one really hard beam at my gym that has absolutely no squish my forst question is are the beams at the meets really hard and my second is there any advice to get this wierd thing out of my head because ihave never don my backwalkover on the hard one without a spot. Keep in mind i have my first level 6 meet in only 11 days.... HELP!!!

In my opinion, the beams at competitions are a bit harder than the ones we train on. But the only thing I find I feel it on is when u do roundoff dismount and my standing back tuck. I don't think it really matters for a backwalkover because there is no pounding involved with the skill.

most beams at meets are harder then what you train on but u will do fine! just dont thinnk bout anything and u will do fine at least that is what i do!! lol
