My daughter started training release moves or any skill for that matter, the summer before she needed it. I can't say this is a good training strategy but it is how she was trained perhaps due to coach lack of experience or planning. I now have seen our HC starting to introduce skills to our Level 8s.
 
High low in Level 8, single bar or low high in level 9. That is when the training should take place. They are not easy!!! The type of release has many variables, skill sets, body type, ability, twitch and mental strength (and a few other things. :).
