This is more out of curiosity than anything...my dd isn't competing this skill this year although she works on it in the gym....

I've noticed that the majority of squat ons (that I've seen anyway) have some degree of bent knees. Is this pretty much the norm? What is the deduction for this in competition or is it allowed? I have seen a few squat ons with perfectly straight legs, but I'm sure it is very hard to do especially in taller gymnasts. I will say the ones I have seen with straight legs are beautiful but wasn't sure how much if any difference it makes on scoring. Thanks!

Yup, squat ons are supposed to have bent legs. Pike ons have straight legs. Either can be competed in level 4 and up I guess.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
