Is there a place you can look at what level of qualification a coach has? British Gymnastics is very keen on safeguarding and being open. Is this information available?

sadly not publically available.

It is quite complicated as qualifications have 2 parts. A practical part and a theory/ logbook part.

If you have attended the practical part of the course you can coach those skills in the gym unsupervised. If you are supervised by someone qualified you can coach anything though even without attending anything.

If you have passed the practical assessment you can take those skills to a competition.

If someone senior will 'vouch' for you at a competition (from the other side of the arena not needed to be next to you or with you) you can take skills to a competition even if you have not passed the practical assessment.

Until you have passed the theory/ logbook part and the practical assessment you are not officially that level coach.

I would like to see an on line list of coaches and what they have passed and the dates passed each part open to view by anyone. It is a professional qualification.
