I have one boy who is struggling with a back uprise on rings.
He has easily enough power in his swings. He has his support, his muscle-up, a set of 3-5 ring dips -- and while none of those is as strong as I'd like, all seem good enough that he should have the strength for a back uprise.
What consistently happens is he gets up to a support with about a 90-degree arm bend, and then drops back down to a hang. To me, it looks like he is having trouble stabilizing that halfway-down-dip position.
Y'all got any particular drills or exercises to build that stability at the end of a back uprise on rings? Alternately, is there some other factor I might be missing?
