Putting the social media drama aside, it was a great weekend of performances at the GK Classic. I was pretty impressed by Riley and trying to figure how everyone fits in. Top tier seem to be Simone, Ragan, Morgan, Riley, and Jade. There are others as well with one or 2 events, but we are out of slots with above group. What are your predictions Based on what we saw at Classics? Is it 1 or 2 specialist slots at Olympics?

I don't think there is room for a specialist any longer with only 4 girls going to the olympics now. You have to put a team together of 4 solid all arounders IMO....Current group I could see a team of Simone, Morgan, Riley and Ragan.
The wild card being Skinner or Nichols deciding to make a run or a Junior elite turning 16 at the right time.

What did Ragan show this weekend that has people putting her on the team? Beam? She didn’t look great on her other 2 events and didn’t do floor.

It appears her ankle has not fully healed as it was still heavily taped. Maybe she should focus on bars and beam this season and give it a break.

Don't forget that the two extra slots each country can earn aren't necessarily specialist spots, they're individual spots. An all arounder can since compete that way, and could possibly bump one of the team members out of the all around final in a two-per-country situation. I bet the US will put specialists in there because they need their top all arounders for the team, but that's not guaranteed.
