Women Competing new levels

Didn't really know how to title this. In the 2016 season I competed as a level 7 and hit the exit score for level 8. However this year in 2017 I competed level 6. Is it possible for me to skip level 7 in 2018 since I already competed it, or will I have to compete it again?

my coach wanted all of the level 7s who didn't have giants to drop to level 6. (however this is odd because half of us dropped and half of us went up to level 8, none with giants...)
