Parents Cortisone injections

Has anyone done cortisone injections for knee inflammation? Considering doctor recommendation after PT.

We (wife and I) talked to my daughters sports doctor a week or two about it. They said it’s horrible for her age and it’s not worth it right now for this injury. So we left it alone
