My daughter’s thighs and knees meet when she does tap swings but her feet don’t naturally meet. I see some girls with this problem tilt their feet towards each other so one foot overlaps the other. My daughter says that’s uncomfortable. Her coach told me that he doesn’t encourage this habit and that we shouldn’t worry about the feet separation. Our conversation was interrupted so I didn’t get to ask why - does anybody know why that would be the case?

Different people have differently shaped knees and ankles.

I've seen elites with knees that naturally bow in so their feet are never together, I've seen elites with knees that naturally bow out so their knees can never get together. As far as I'm aware, there's no "remedy," per se.

*shrug* it's not really a problem, and even if it was, it's not really "fixable," so there's not much to be gained from worrying about it

Probably, if it is not affecting the technique or the future progression of the skill and is a minor and not easily fixable thing (without maybe messing with other potential problems), they prefer to focus on other corrections.
