Well my youngest finally had her first sanctioned level 8 meet. My hope for her was to at least get an 8 on each event. Well it almost worked out that way.

Vault was an 8.05, she wasn't able to stick her tsuk, but I know that she can.

Bars this was the struggle. Practice went well, then in competition she missed her squat so tried to sole circle then kip again. Finally to the high bar, straddle back was really good, then she whacked her feet on the low bars during her giant kind of knocking the wind out of her and she wasn't sure what to do. There was then a fall. Anyway she only pulled a 6 out of it. Again I know she is quite capable of a good bar routine.

Beam went quite well. She had been struggling with her BHS series so decided to do a two foot then step out which worked great! She did have a fall and some form issues but scored an 8.7 taking 9th place.

Floor was the big success of the day. With new music and routine we were really hoping for this. It went great she got a 9.05 and took 4th place.

I am so proud of my kids and all they do and glad that we can sometimes brag a little. Her team mate had an even better meet and I feel just so great for her too!

Well, looks like she had some ups and downs at her first level 8 meet. Everything else will come along as the season progresses. Now she knows what she needs to work on and can focus on those things. :) I think she did great for her first level 8 meet. :) From her old video, you know she is strong on bars, I am sure it will all start to click. :) The straddle back is a huge skill, I don't know if I could watch that. :) And her tsuk looked nice, just gotta get that landing. :) Beam and floor seem to be where she is strongest right now. Her old video she had a nice L7 beam routine, so just that confidence on the BHS series thing. :)

Brag away here. We all love meet reports and new skill reports. :)

Nowhere to go but up on bars, right? Congrats on her great floor score though!! And sticking her series on beam will give her a lot of confidence going into the season!
