As others have stated, I pay the choreographer, I buy the music, it belongs to me/my gymnast. The gym tells us who to go to for choreography, and we pay that person cash. The gym gets none of it. I have had a choreographer ask me not to share the routine on YouTube before competition season to keep people from pirating her routines, but once its competed, it is public domain for all to see because it was competed in public. The only time I could even fathom a gym not allowing the music or routines to be used would be if it was an Xcel routine that wasn't paid for individually, and the coach got the music and everyone did the same routine. That would be considered the gym's property.
